A very beautifully coloured large species found in the USA, colouring is usually black head and thorax with a lovely orange/brown gaster. Sansabeanus are among the largest camponotus found in the USA , queens are particularly of stocky build. Queens are 16-18mm with workers around 7-12mm and majors upto 17mm. Queens are fully claustral so will not require feeding until first workers. On average it takes around 45 days from egg to worker, this depends greatly on temperature of course. They are very easy to feed , love for sugars and sugary treats. Protein wise I recommend fruit flys /wax worms and crickets.
